After surgery yesterday, Eljane is feeling a little sore and her ready smile is not quite what it was when I first met her. That will change pretty soon. She was happy to have the company of Patient Ward Coordinator, Karen Johnson of Olympia, WA. Note the beautiful note she wrote to the Rotaplast Team.
Karen and Recreation Co-ordinator, Brigitte Pahwa, of Austin Texas (above) treated the children to the Jungle Book movie to fill in the long hours of waiting.
The update is great, very inspiring. However, the news is reporting a state of emergency in Cebu City due to a typhoon. An update that acknowledged what we at home are worrying about would be more relevant!!

The weather in Cebu City has been perfect since we arrived - the usual short and sharp tropical downpours, but no sign of any typhoon. Some people way north of Cebu in Northern Luzon were not so lucky, however. The children here in Cebu who are so very fortunate to be undergoing these life-changing operations by such talented doctors and nurses, are all doing very well. It has been a wonderful mission with positive emotions running high. Thanks for your interest in Rotaplast and for reading our blog. Tricia.
