It's Friday morning and guess what? We're still here...
Last night during our final dinner, we learned that the volcano near Guatemala City erupted and dumped ash over the city and of course the airport. Click here for the full story
The latest news this morning is that the airport is still not opened, some roads are closed so we are waiting here at our hotel, which is fortunately 4 hours away from the volcano and hence safe.
"""""""" BREAKING NEWS """"""""""""""
A bus is going to pick us up today at 1:30pm and transport us to a hotel in Guatemala City close to the airport, but of course away from the volcano. Apparently, the airport will not be open until Sunday. So we'll continue to wait until we can safely return.

Please keep us posted! Maybe you can find something to do to relax? A well deserved break! Take care of each other.

Now a tropical storm?! Complications with cleaning up the ash, due to the storm? What's the story with you guys today? How was Antigua?

Hi Jenette,
Thanks for the update on conditions here in Guatemala city. We all want to get out of here ASAP. Anything you can do to get us on any flights, any airline out of here tomorrow would be greatly appreciated by all. We know that everyone is doing there verry best to make this happen, and appreciate it very much.
Antigua is a beautiful city even in the monsoon rain, ankle high water in the streets. Our host in Antigue, Jerry is a Rotary member and he and his wife gave us a tour of his Jade store, a beautiful church and some other areas. We wish we could have seen this very old colonel city in dry weather.
Please email me back and let me know that you got this message.

Bob,
Got your message from the blog. I hear that the team might leave from San Salvador on Wed? Thanks for keeping us up to date. What are the conditions where you are? I imagine drinking water is a concern. Let us know what the team is doing.
Thanks.
